Karen H. Carter
About me:
I grew up in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia and have lived in the University area of Charlotte since 2000. I have two adult children (a daughter and a son), and between work, family and pets (just ask me what all lives in my house!), I stay busy.
I read voraciously, and love mysteries, kids fiction and classic literature. My favorite authors include Terry Pratchett and Alexander McCall Smith. I garden and do artwork as time permits. Before becoming a school librarian, I spent three years at David Cox Elementary in Charlotte as the Media Coordinator and six years at Davidson Elementary in CMS teaching technology classes.
I also teach English language classes online to students in China.
Education:
I completed my Master's degree in Library and Information Science through UNC Greensboro.
I completed my bachelor's degree in Art Education in 1990, at Radford University, VA.
I'm delighted to be working at Woodland Heights; it's a great school,
and I believe our students can accomplish great things!

In addition, we have Library pets. Below are Bob and Kiwi:
And don't worry -- They are both very careful not to get their library books wet. :)
